Waldo Broodryk Portrait

Hi, I'm Waldo BroodrΓΏk

I serve the team at Webflow. I'm a web designer and lover of animating all things on the web. I enjoy writing about my thoughts on web design, going hiking, snowboarding, surfing, swimming, making YouTube videos, taking pictures of our doggo, and hanging out with friends and family.

Sometimes I share things on Twitter

This is likely the easiest place to get ahold of me. Just Tweet at me or send me a DM onΒ Twitter if you'd like to connect.

Working while the family is watching 007 in the room next door can be quite an intense experience. GIF-alt: Intense looping GIF of a cat in a windowsill in a storm, looking up, the camera zooms in, and in, and in until all you can see is the cat's eyes. https://t.co/5vgoTPvglB

@ICondensed @webflow Thankfully svg elements can be rendered at any width. It's important to define the width via a style of an element for faster rendering in my experience (whether it's an inline or background image). The best place for answers & questions is this page ➑️ https://t.co/Kd8zuTZhWx

It's a tough time of the year outside of work for many, too. Thank and encourage someone when you think of them. Chances are, someone came to mind while reading this. Send them a message, thank them for being in your life πŸ’œ.

December 23, 2019

Good morning, world πŸ’œ I hope that you each have a wonderful Monday and week ahead. Small ask: Encourage someone this week. πŸ’œπŸ˜πŸ™ (short thread)

December 23, 2019

It's a common week of folks having to work when many others may have the week or a few days off. Rather than saying: "that sucks." Sympathize with, and encourage them please. The constant reminder that it's tough to be away can be quite discouraging. πŸ’œ

I usually look forward to this time of year as I get to rest and reassess life. I also usually have time to work on a few items I've been eager to work on but haven't made time to spend on. That changes today. (thread) https://t.co/mL6IjLKhVo

December 21, 2019

Setting a desired destination in areas of life helps immensely with planning. I'm planning and prioritizing out the months ahead. The plan includes times of rest and reassessment. It'll be tough to stick to an exact plan, so I plan for levels of flux in everything.

December 21, 2019

I'll be sharing a lot more, and using new tools to help automate that (hope that y'all don't mind that). My time on Earth is limited, I intend to make the most of it and let my actions be evident of that desire.

December 21, 2019

Set your desired destinations in life and plot your course. Some journeys will be longer/shorter than planned. Some will stop short. We can only do our best, learn every day, and remember that we're human after all. Believe in yourself and encourage those around you πŸ’œ.

Love this, Alex! Surround yourself with people that encourage you to be the best version of you, inside and outside of work. Seek out ways to encourage them, daily. These choices and actions have had the greatest impact on my life and career. https://t.co/3SZbNFBF7T

December 19, 2019

I spent so many years of my life trying appease others in order to fit in. It was exhausting, and I made my worst choices when I was in those relationships. Learned a lot of lessons through despair and felt alone constantly when I was doing that.

December 19, 2019

@chaseadamsio Added to the library and content consumption calendar. πŸ’œ What headspace do you recommend to be in when reading this?

December 19, 2019

I was discussing the notion of ambitions and desired outcomes in life with a few friends, and was feeling a bit stuck with managing ambition. Shared that with my mom and she advised me to instead focus on managing time/resources and let ambitions flow/grow freely.

December 19, 2019

I've identified that I have many ambitions in life this year. Writing everyday has been one of the most impactful habits in managing streams of thought/ideas/content/plans. I have a lot to share, so I'm spending a few dedicated hours to plan a 2020 content calendar πŸ—“πŸ“ˆ

December 19, 2019

This realization felt like a real turning point to help me focus on the process and order of operations again to achieve the greatest, balanced, sustainable outcomes with assessment points built in.

December 19, 2019

So often we forget to calculate the half-life of systems. There's a level of decay in all systems, and all of life as we know it. Planning check-in points and retros on our work, life, relationships, processes and systems is a critical maintenance step that a lot of us forget.

December 19, 2019

If you find yourself frustrated, stressed, panicking, losing sleep, unhappy, constantly confused, rushed, dreading the days ahead or another circumstance that you may be avoiding; know that there is hope. Don't panic πŸ’œ. Breathe. Talk to someone. Write about it. Process it.
